SCUBA stands for Self- Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Unlike snorkeling, scuba diving allows you to go deeper into the sea and unlike free-diving lets you stay longer under water.

The cylinder we use contains compressed air (21% O2, 79% N) not as many people mistakenly believe pure oxygen..

Diving is one of the safest sports however divers need to be careful when diving to greater depths to avoid nitrogen narcosis or decompression sickness. Training and maintaining safe diving practices prevent this from happening.

Safety

As you progress in the sport you learn all the principles of diving safely.

First and foremost is the buddy system followed by the safe diving practice rules like never holding your breath, diving within the limits of your training, planning the dive and diving the plan and staying physically fit.
